Hi Sharon, Sorry to have missed your question, hope you are still in Barbados. We are open every Friday night weather permitting. We open at 8 pm with a short lecture before going up to the telescope. I am not sure of the current TAXI rates from the GAP. But we have a telephone at the Observatory which you can call a cab from. Failing that ask them to return about 9.30 or 10 pm depending on your interest in astronomy, as we will continue to chat with you as long as you have a question. Hope to see you soon, if you did not make it last Friday.

The nearest bus routes to HBO are Eddy V'age Route 11A or St. Patricks Route 16 - disembark at Carters General Store Wildey and cross the road opposite the Rubis Gas …

The nearest bus routes to HBO are Eddy V'age Route 11A or St. Patricks Route 16 - disembark at Carters General Store Wildey and cross the road opposite the Rubis Gas Station, walk up Observatory Road it bends to the right a couple of house before the Harry Bayley Observatory (approx 100-150 metres) - the round building on right with dome on top. Or take a Van, Fordes Road #8 to bottom of Observatory Road and walk up short incline to HBO.

The observatory is open Fridays from 8 to 10 pm, weather permitting. We do intend opening on December 22nd and 29th. Enjoy your visit!
