Interested in knowing more about your birding trip around Barcelona... Planning a trip around the 5th of September this year. I am mostly into photographing birds and would like to know what focal length would be best suited for the job as I am not aware of how far the birds would be.

Hi Sudhir I would recommend using a 400mm zoom or prime, obviously cost is the major factor in being able to use what lens you like. Some of the larger birds will be hard to get close to and even though you can get close to the smaller birds you still need the 400mm. I used a 400mm F5/6 prime and it was light enough to handhold and managed to get good shots of the smaller birds, sometimes I wished I had the zoom but other times I'm glad I had the prime. Enjoy your birding.
