Hi! We would love to see the Ein Gedi park, walk in the beautiful surroundings, and then go to the Dead sea in the same area. We would like to leave from Beer sheva by bus, and go back before it is dark. This gives us the time between 8.34 am and 15.30, would that be enough? Ein Gedi is the most timportant part for us, but we dont want to miss the Dead sea when we are there. And should we bring our own lunch/picknick for the park?

There is a paved walkway from the visitor's center to the first falls. This walk takes no more than 20 minutes or so (you won't be the only ones there since this is a big tour bus stop). It's a short walk/climb to the next two smaller falls just behind the first falls. You can probably accomplish all this in 1 hour. There is a large undercover area filled with picnic tables at the visitor's center and a small café that serves sandwiches, etc. No need to bring your own food. The park is OK, but I would rank the Dead Sea over it since it's so unusual. The Dead Sea near Ein Gedi is not the best/most scenic part but what the heck. You can still float. There are some café/restaurants located here too.
How did you get there ? Did you have a guide ? Thanks, David
