I have two very curious elementary school aged boys and will be camping at Fontainebleau State Park in late March/Early April. How nervous do I need to be about alligators? Is it ok to let them explore as long as they stay away from the marshy areas?

I grew up in New Orleans and while there was mosquito abatement we had to wear insect repellent. Also consider the temperature in June. How hot and humid it may be. The cabins over the water are great- right on the lake.I am very sensitive to incest bites so I would recommend an insect repellent be used.
