My husband is 77 years old and not especially athletic. Now he mainly swims for exercise. In his 60's he enjoyed horseback riding on the beach and I'm wondering if this experience would be safe and enjoyable for him (and the horse!). He would need a stool or platform in order to mount and dismount and weighs about 230 lb. It sounds like such a great way to view Palo Duro Canyon!

His weight would be no issue. As regards mounting, almost everyone in our group used sturdy plastic steps. I did hear something about an age limit, but you should call them to confirm. Horses are pretty docile. Only issue might be if they step in a gopher hole, like they did for me and my wife. Good luck!
