When going on the five day trip, what items would you say we're most important to bring and what can you leave at home? I want to make sure to be prepared for everything.

Sheri Griffith has a very good packing list and I would suggest contacting their office with any specific questions, they are vey helpful and eager to help to make sure you have a great trip.
What is the bathroom situation on these luxury trips? I hate to be course, but I am not a camper and am trying to imagine how this works at a campsite in the wilderness. Thanks.

There are two portable "buckets" with a toilet seat. If you need to urinate, you can always jump in the river, or, use the "pee bucket". Pee is poured into the river later, so no toilet …
There are two portable "buckets" with a toilet seat. If you need to urinate, you can always jump in the river, or, use the "pee bucket". Pee is poured into the river later, so no toilet paper can go in that bucket. There is also another bucket, for feces. It is hard to keep the two separate, but a bit of pee in the second bucket isn't the end of the world. Toilet paper can go into that bucket as can feminine products. This is called the "groover" because apparently in the old days there was no toilet seat so people got "grooves" on their behinds from sitting on it. It is set up a bit of a walk away from the campsite, so it is quite private. No smell comes from it to the campsite and you have full privacy while using it. An umbrella is often set up to shield it for more privacy, too.

Flights will probably be cheaper to SLC. There is a shuttle from SLC to Moab Elevated Transit, that has free wifi and comfortable seats. If you call Sheri Griffith River Expeditions and talk to Kristl she is the best and most helpful with arranging travel, hotel and activities.
