Brian, thank you for your review! We plan on visiting Neah Bay in 10 days; sounds like this is a 'must see'! Your description reminds me of what someone may write about Pompei, Italy following Mt. Vesuvius' eruption. is that a fair comparison? What types of items have been uncovered? Are there presentation about what life may have been like at the time of the landslide? How long should we plan on visiting Neah Bay if we see the museum and take the hike? Thank you!

I agree about an hour to visit the museum. If like us you enjoy video presentations the one at the end of your walk through the museum is very good with tribal elder stories. The hike only takes about 20 minutes each way. However we usually spend extra time out at the lookouts. Lots of pictures and a pair of binoculars would be handy. Be sure to be prepared for rainy conditions. I would devote at least 2 1/2 hours in the Mean Bay area. Here's to nature at its finest.
