匹兹堡位于美国宾夕法尼亚州西南部，阿勒格尼河与莫农加希拉河汇合成俄亥俄河的河口。宾夕法尼亚州第二大城市，阿勒格尼县县治。2018年人口大约302,407 。匹兹堡曾是美国著名的钢铁工业城市，有“世界钢都”之称。但1980年代后，匹兹堡的钢铁业务已经淡出，现已转型为以医疗、金融及高科技工业为主之都市。市内最大企业为匹兹堡大学医学中心，并为全美第六大银行匹兹堡国家银行所在地。 由于近年的经济发展堪为典范，于2009年获选主办世界二十国集团高峰会。匹兹堡交通便利，公路、铁路和水上运输发达，匹兹堡国际机场位于该市西部，为美国东部著名的大型机场，有18家航空公司聚集此地。匹兹堡大学和卡内基梅隆大学是美国著名的高等学府。
