On The Move, Inc. started in Dearborn, Michigan, on January 28, 1992. Its founder, Maury Westerdale, recognized the need for a commercial truck lease program for self-managed local rental trucks, allowing the owner/operator to set their own rates and advertise their company at the same time. The ingenuity of Maury evolved into a turnkey truck lease program that launched On The Move, Inc. into the fourth-largest truck rental fleet in the United States. Although the original target market for rental truck leasing was the Self-Storage industry, other industries began to discover the advantages of On The Move, Inc. Today our truck leasing program not only serves the Self-Storage industry but the moving industry, rental stores, real estate professionals, apartment communities, caterers and contractors.
