We took the Suchá Belá route. It was amazing, we went in april after it rained for a bit so the water lever was high. There is a small fee to enter which is used for upkeeping. We saw few people we… m_hofericova的完整评论

Good option if you're in the High Tatras area. I did the Sucha Bela route. No water in July so not so difficult. If you take the mountain bike back down, be warned that it's a mountain bike for a r… Daoda2的完整评论

Yes, definitely. Actually, there is a lot of trails/gorges to choose from so it's not like you can't go on for a long time, but the scenery overall is pretty similar: Prielom Hornadu is a different type of scenery, but other gorges are similar type. And of course there is the ice cave if you travel more to the south of S.P., so this eats some time (assuming you are based in Podlesok/Hrabusice/Cingov etc). So I would actually say (at least if excluding trip to cave) that if you're a good fit hiker, so that you can do like 2-3 attractions during a single very long day hike, such 1 full day of hike is already acceptable and 2 hiking days is what easily allows you to feel "if I stayed longer there would still be things to do, but basically I already do know what this National Park is all about" - while if you don't do as large and long hikes, then 2 hiking days is already all well and fine, and 3 hiking days is what will still not make you bored. However - those numbers of days which I gave are hiking days i.e. you need weather for it, obviously this is always a lottery what you get when you come, and it's not safe to go to the ladders / metal steps during a rain as they get slippery. Not all days can be hiking days, and you can't predict this before you are at the spot and see the weather. Yet overall, if you have longer time to allocate in the area, I would devote more of it to High Tatras (with possibilities of adding Western or Low if you do have a lot) - Slovak Paradise is surely a must when you're in the area, but focusing too much on it might be an overkill: this is a unique style of a mountain range when compared to all the others, but individual places inside it are not that unique really compared one to each other.

Yes, of course, actually I am not sure which trail you mean (there's many metal steps on different trails) since I am not aware of any where you _could_ go 16 km on a single trail if you really wanted to (all the attractions are short, you can of course do one, return, and do the other, to easily reach 16 kms or more). Which attraction did you mean? I think the most well-known are Prielom Hornadu and Sucha Bela. Both of them you can easily reach from Podlesok / Hrabusice and the first metal steps appear after up to some 30 minutes of walk (Sucha Bela is one-way, though, so you need to complete to reach to the top, which is 4 kms total (plus return).

You can enter the trail via Cingov or Harabusice. I recomend walking from Harabusice, due to the terrain being quite steep if you choose Cingov. It's suitable for children, but hiking boots and good weather are essential :) The trail lets you follow the river, but you won't really see any waterfalls. Hope this helps. ~Maria
