Does anybody know if you can go to the lagoons (big and small) alone, as in, without a tour? I am there next week and stupidly did not think to book anything online, and Tour A seems to be pretty much sold out, but it would be a shame to be in El Nido and not do the lagoons!

Hmmm I’m not sure but there are a fair amount of decent bungalows and beach hotels near the strip. I stayed at “sommer” which is a really quaint and friendly place about 7 min drive to the strip. They had shuttle service for us, but we also rented scooters for cheap. This place was great because it was private and enclosed gate for all people staying, and everybody got their own cottage/bungalow. They have massage service in the common area for purchase and free breakfast. I quite enjoyed it ther and recommend if you’re looking for something relaxing and cabin camp out style.

They might even have a speed boat to help you reach the three lagoons for a day tour swiftly and safely. Worst case scenario, they would have to charter a smaller craft from the locals to take you to your destinations. Good Luck!

For sure, tour operators and tour guides will think of the guests' safety first before anything else. Maybe just plan for alternatives if the weather will really be bad.
