Winterthur has an excellent website. The general admission ticket includes a guided house tour or guided garden tour plus the special exhibit and the tureen collection. You can get in and out in 90 minutes, but most people will spend 3 hours. You may want more time to walk through the gardens and visit the book store and gift shop. They have a cafeteria. Reservations for the guided tour are recommended.
I see they sell tickets in advance for the introductory tour. Is it necessary to book tickets in advance? Or are people usually able to purchase tickets when they arrive?

Thank you! We called in the morning and were told they had plenty of availability that day, so we just purchased our tickets when we arrived.
