Me and my wife had a great time! Came down on our honeymoon with no intention of fishing, but after seeing how pretty the river was we just couldn’t resist! Walter hooked us up even on late notice an…Cole L的完整评论

I've done several guided trips with Wally over the past 10 years, I'd say at least 6-8 different trips, mostly on the Yellowstone River. Without a doubt, he is the best fly fishing guide I know and I…jasonhass的完整评论

Greetings. I will be out of town until midday on the 18th, but will be available after that depending on the type of trip you're interested in. The options that are available in March are good, particularly for chances at larger fish rather than numbers, but they are very poor choices for beginners. Here are the options that make sense, in order of preference: 1.) Missouri River jet boat trips. These only make sense if you are staying in or are willing to stay in Helena Montana. Late March can be prime time here and is certainly the best option for numbers of larger fish. 2.) Half-day walk/wade or POSSIBLY float trips on the Yellowstone River. This would be the best option near Gardiner. A float would only be available if all the bank ice has melted by that point. Right now the banks are still ice-bound and so it is impossible to launch or pull out a boat safely. 3.) Paradise Valley spring creek walk/wade. This is the best option if you're hoping for any dry fly fishing, though even here most fishing will be subsurface at this time. Yellowstone Park is closed to fishing in your timeframe (it doesn't open until Memorial Day weekend) and the private lakes will still be frozen. None of the above options are really suitable for beginner anglers (you did not mention your skill level). Really no fishing in this area in March is, simply because the fish are lethargic and are sitting deep, so they require better casts and presentations than they do in the summer. Visit my website for current rates. Regards, Walter Wiese
