The Swedish Army has decided to purchase 44 new Leopard 2A8 main battle tanks. In addition, Stockholm will upgrade its existing Leopard 2 fleet of 66 tanks to the latest “2A8” version.

Saab also hopes to start manufacturing the Carl-Gustaf anti-tank weapons system at its Haryana facility by early next year.
