The iconic Bribie Island is at risk of ripping in half and leaving parts of the Sunshine Coast facing a “real life nightmare” as the threat of Tropical Cyclone Alfred grows.

High winds have already claimed three vessels that have washed up on the beach in the Pumicestone Passage, a narrow waterway located between Bribie Island and the mainland in Queensland.
