2023年10月21日 · MDM mode means that traction control is still on, it's just turned down. For whatever reason, BMW has the Traction Control Off light illuminated when the car is in MDM mode. As for the why: it's fun. It still keeps you going where you want to go, but it will allow a little bit of slip when accelerating or cornering.

So the traction control light flickers on when you are driving the car hard? ... Hub for all BMW 3 series ...

I think this actually might be the case, yesterday for about 10 minutes a transmission light came on, and with all those lights on together it confirms what ive read about it being the ABS module. I hope it can still be repaired and i don't have to buy a brand new one.

2021年1月2日 · Sorta. "traction" mode is dynamic traction control. It's the most "off" you can get on an i3 without putting it into roller test mode from the diagnostics menu. When it's in Traction mode you'll have an orange light above the gauge cluster as well as the word "Traction" in the bottom right of the screen just above the miles remaining.

2020年9月23日 · +1. ABS wheel speed sensor is a quite common failure in e46. The only thing that doesn't convince me is the warning light (I've always seen the brake check symbol instead of the word "brake"), but maybe that's just because OP has an USDM model and EUDM have different warning lights?

2022年3月10日 · The warning triangle stays lit. Although DSC is off, DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) still remains active. DTC is basically traction control and brakes the rear wheels if too much wheel spin is detected. Hold the DSC button for a few seconds to disable DSC and DTC. At this point the BRAKE light will light up and only ABS remains active.

2021年1月24日 · Check your battery. I had very similar symptoms when my battery was going out. I'd i hit the throttle hard or if traction control was activated I'd go into limp mode and the christmas tree dash would show up. A new battery cleared it all up. BMWs do weird things when the electrical system is underpowered.

Can't say for certain on your car, but I know that BMW has used different methods for measuring tire pressure, one of those methods is done by measuring wheel speed. If it detects different (faster) speed at a wheel, then the system may determine that tire pressure is low in that wheel.

2022年10月11日 · The DSC module reads wheel speeds, steering angle, gyros, etc to control braking, engine power. But just being able to read wheel speeds is very different from being able to communicate with the DSC. Have you tried turning off traction control altogether (hold down the button for about 5 seconds)? What happens then?
