2011年5月22日 · Once you're all done, take a spring rake, turn it over so the tines are facing up and drag it across the mulch. This smooths the mulch back out and kind of "mixes" the little clippings that are left back in a little. Once they dry up and turn brown, you dont really notice them in the mulch as much if theres only a few left.

2012年2月29日 · This is the correct answer. Mulch turns into a beneficial mat of decomposed matter and surface roots from the plants. If it's really thick use a leaf rake and remove the top layer. If you apply the correct amoount of new mulch you wont have any color change issues. This why I stopped using weedblock fabric.

I generally "blow over" the straw to get the leaves out and this lessens the amount of straw blown out. Much more direct airflow it either flaps the straw up or blows it out entirely.

Trick is to not mulch the leaves too much as they mower won't do s good job picking them up, but enough so they are extremely compact in the bagger.

When you mulch leaves, you break them up into tiny pieces, so much less effort is required to bag them up. If you don't mulch, then almost all of the leaves have to be blown into the bagger. It's a lot easier to mulch than it is to bag leaves.

If you would consider getting one of these shredder vac/blowers, let me just suggest that you make sure it has a metal impeller blade.
