The Blue Comet was a named passenger train operated by Central Railroad of New Jersey from 1929 to 1941 between the New York metropolitan area and Atlantic City.

2023年8月3日 · All of CNJ's pacifics can point to the Reading G1s as an increasingly distant ancestor. The G3s and G4s were based on the G1s, but with additional equipment, such as stokers, mechanical lubricators, feedwater heaters, and a narrower firebox.
Three brand new G3 Pacific locomotives were assigned to the train; numbers 831, 832 and 833. The CNJ totally refurbished sixteen cars for Blue Comet service, inside and out. Each train consisted of a baggage car, combine-smoker, coaches, and an observation car.

2011年2月1日 · It has history, pictures, an engine diagram. They were a CNJ class G3s heavy Pacific. They had 79" drivers 6’11" driver centers, 36’ 8" overall engine wheelbase. They had an Elesco feedwater heater and two single stage air pumps on the engineer’s side. The tender overall wheel base was 23’ 10.5" and had 10k gallons of water and 15 tons of coal.
