One encounter might be a place where the forest trail becomes confusing. Another might be where the party encounters evidence of the spiders. Another might be a spider ambush and yet another might be a tree-top spider lair.

The Willows by Blackwood is the best creepy forest story of all time. The Hollow Places and The Twisted Ones by Kingfisher fit the bill but I'd only bother reading one or the other, they're nearly identical books.

Overall the armor change made us way more durable. 10 pieces of Creepy Armor is 800 durability compared to 400 before. This is balanced out with the scarcity of Creepy Armor and the much tougher mutants you face later on. It also makes early game armor much more useful. 4 pieces of bone armor is equal to having 6.5 pieces of creepy armor before.
