2008年2月1日 · Moly lube does. Chassis grease (which is NOT as assembly lube) clogs filters. The same goes for wheel bearing grease. All good engine assembly lubes are soluble in oil and have a low melting point. There are some Teflon®-fortified assembly lubes that I do not recommend (can clog the filter) using except for lubing the valves upon installation.

The WORST time for a filter to bypass is during initial start up when there are potentially tons of metal shavings in the engine. On a flat-cam engine, I use assembly lube on the cam lobes, lifter bases, pushrod ends, and rocker arm tips.
