In career mode, the pre season tournament will follow a fairly simple format. Eight teams in total (including you) will compete. Typically, between two and four of the teams will be ‘local’ – from the country the tournament is located in.

Prior to fifa 21, I always would skip the tourneys since I never cared for the prize money and it just got in my way more than anything. However since sharpness exists I use the pre season tourneys to rotate my squad and get them more game-ready come the regular season.

How you want to play career mode is totally your choice. Once you load into the season you will be greeted with a pre-season tournament invite. You can choose one of these competitions to play in or skip it all together.
