Kosice [kɔˈɕit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Zębowice, within Olesno County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. [1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) west of Zębowice, 16 km (10 mi) south-west of Olesno, and 26 km (16 mi) north-east of the regional capital Opole.

Košice[a] is the largest city in eastern Slovakia. It is situated on the river Hornád at the eastern reaches of the Slovak Ore Mountains, near the border with Hungary. With a population of approximately 230,000, Košice is the second-largest city in Slovakia, after the capital Bratislava.

Košice, city, eastern Slovakia. It lies on the Hornád River, south of Prešov. Košice originated in the 9th century and was chartered in 1241. In the late Middle Ages it was one of the 24 trading settlements of the Polish-Slovak frontier, in which immigrant German merchants were prominent.

Since the beginning of the XV century the city had been in the leading post of Pentapolitana - which was an economic and political alliance of five cities in this region. Kosice in the medieval times was also developing due to its central location on the map of Europe.
