I am a plant community ecologist with a goal of producing “usable” science to improve ecosystem management. I use a combination of long-term data analysis, population modeling and field experiments to this end. Research themes I focus on include: community assembly, functional traits, species coexistence, ecosystem stability, and resilience theory.

We are community ecologists in the Environmental Studies Program and the Biology Department at the University of Oregon.
