The Panama City Panama Temple was the third temple built in Central America, following the Guatemala City Guatemala Temple (1984) and the San José Costa Rica Temple (2000), and the first built in Panama. The first congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Panama was organized in 1941.

The Panama City Panama Temple is the 127th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It was announced in 2002 and was dedicated on August 10, 2008 by church president Thomas S. Monson. [1] Located in Cárdenas, a suburb of Panama City, it is the first church temple in Panama. [2]

Hinckley told over 4,500 members of Panama that "the Church would find a way to build a Temple there if they faithfully paid their tithing and kept the other commandments."

2002年8月23日 · The Panama City temple stands on 6.96 acres on a tree-covered hillside overlooking the Panama Canal and the North Pacific Ocean. The structure is a total of 18,943 square feet. Exterior walls of the house of the Lord were made with China stone and art-glass windows. Palm trees, bushes and walkways decorate the temple grounds.

This magnificent Temple sits on a beautiful hill with a view of the Panama Canal in the distance. There is also an LDS meeting house, distribution center, gift shop, and "hotel" for Central American travelers who come long distances to spend time in the Temple.
