My 9mm Compact has been a joy to shoot and has been dead on accurate through every time it is shot. My only 45 at this time is an SR1911 Commander model, which works without a hitch.

It had numerous issues with the stock recoild spring. The pistol has been back to RUGER twice. And, they also sent me two other OEM recoil spring assemblies.

2017年8月12日 · I am thinking about buying a Ruger American Pistol in 45acp. I already have the American Compact Pistol in 9mm. I thought I had my mind made up to buy the full size American 45, as I doubt I would ever carry the Compact 45. I have several micro Kahrs in 45 that I have carried for years. I am happy with the Kahr pistols.

2019年4月7日 · I seem to be talking to myself in this thread, but in case anyone here is having a similar problem with an American .45 Compact, here's a follow up. The new guide rod assembly arrived today, just 5 days after I called Ruger, and both springs SEEM to be captive, though I didn't do any fiddling to make sure.
