Scapular winging can be diagnosed by practitioner with a proper history and physical examination. Electrodiagnostic testing can help to establish the underlying neuromuscular pathology. Neuromuscular ultrasound can be used to establish the muscular pathology and the neurologic causes of the muscle pathology.
