Polycerates (meaning "many-horned") are animals with more than two horns. Polyceraty has been observed in ancient sheep remains dating to c. 6000 BCE from Çatalhöyük in modern Turkey. [1] Polycerate sheep breeds include the Hebridean, Icelandic, [2] Jacob, [3] Manx Loaghtan, Boreray and the Navajo-Churro.

Manx Loaghtan usually have four horns, but individuals are also found with two or six horns. [7] The horns are generally small on the ewes but larger and stronger on the males. An adult female weighs about 40 kg, and an adult male weighs around 60 kg.
