In this project I'm gonna show you how to make your own spectroscope, for under 5 bucks. a carton or pvc tube, I'm using a toilet paper tube myself. an utility knife or scissors. Mark a circle on the cd using the tube as a template. Remove the reflective layer …
Build a simple, pocket-sized spectroscope from readily available materials and use it to examine different kinds of light sources in school, at home, and around the city. Introduction. White light is a mixture of all colors of visible light. But not all light that appears white to the eye is made of the same mix of colors.
Make your own Spectroscope Information Print out the template and follow the instructions on it. As well as the template you will also need scissors, an A4 sheet of card (thicker card and darker colours work best), glue, sellotape and a CD. You will also need a light source to look at when you’ve finished, e.g. a light in your house or a torch.

make two folds at 'eye' and insert a CD or DVD. Now what remains is to use it - it will not take too much of time for you get used to see spectra. Hold the spectroscope horizontally in the direction of the source in such a way that 'towards the light' window is towards the source of light.

Turn an old CD into a spectroscope to analyze light—you may be surprised by what you see. Try pointing your CD spectroscope at the fluorescent light in your room, sunlit clouds in the sky, even your friend’s colored shirt to reveal the wavelengths …
Easy spectroscope – A science blog, by Kyle Larsen
2021年1月5日 · This project will teach you how to build a simple DIY spectroscope with an old CD, an empty paper towel roll, and (optionally) a 3D printer. Print the two different end caps, glue or tape the diffraction grating (part of an old CD with the metallic top layer removed) into the cap with the larger hole, and place both caps on the end of the paper ...

This guide demonstrates how to construct a very simple spectroscope. Spectroscopes are simple devices often using a diffraction grating or prism to split visible light into a spectrum. Often used to look at stars or gemstones, the resultant spectrum enables the viewer to determine the makeup of the star or gem in question.
