It wasn't until 1915 that the department purchased their first motorized ladder truck. [4] At this time the Anaheim City Council authorized the employment of two full-time firemen. These two men worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and lived at the Anaheim Fire Station.

Field Operations handles approximately 30,000 emergency incidents a year to include fire, rescue, medical aid, and other calls for service. Operation Division manages all major emergency responses and staffs 10 engine and 6 truck companies in 11 Fire Stations.
