I noticed that "ayy" seemed to get popularized by all those songs that came out of the Dirty South or ATL culture, like Lil Jon, or the Ying Yang Twins, or Usher, etc the list goes on. Basically all the songs in the club had it, and/or people dancing to it are still bound to shout it out.
