Lady Baela Targaryen, also known as Baela Velaryon,[1] was a daughter of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lady Laena Velaryon.[6] She had a younger twin sister, Rhaena Targaryen, and two younger half-brothers, Aegon and Viserys. She was a dragonrider who rode Moondancer.[3]

Baela Targaryen, named after her paternal grandfather Baelon, is the eldest daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon, and is bonded with the young dragon Moondancer. She is the older sister of Rhaena Targaryen .

When Dragonstone fell to Aegon II Targaryen and his men, Baela was able to evade capture by escaping from her bedchambers as the door was being smashed down. She managed to reach Moondancer in her stable, loosed the dragon's chains, and strapped a saddle onto her.
