Bi-Han and Kuai Liang were born to a Cryomancer father and a Chinese-American human mother. Their father was a secret operative for the Lin Kuei in the United States, eventually taking both sons back with him to China, against their mother's wishes.

Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are the only klassic trilogy era-based fighters in MK11 who never have their past-selves appeared in its story mode. Through the Kustomization, Noob can look identical to his Shadow Clone.

Kuai Liang is present during a trial in Outworld held against Bi-Han and Sektor for their crimes against Outworld and Earthrealm. The trial is interrupted by the arrival of Titan Havik and his forces, who assault the trial and kidnap Geras.

After some time, Kuai Liang returns, revealing to Tomas that Bi-Han had betrayed him and Earthrealm to side with the sorcerers. Bi-Han eventually catches up to them, where he is defeated by Kuai Liang.

Fleeing to Japan to escape Bi-Han & his followers, they sought refuge from a family friend: Harumi Shirai, who offers to help them upon learning of Bi-Han's betrayal. With her help, they created the Shirai Ryu to replace the Lin Kuei as Earthrealm's protectors.
