Carl Friedrich Wolff came to South Africa from Kempten in Bavaria, Germany in 1875. He eventually landed up in Johannesburg in about 1890 where he opened an office for a London based company.

Karl Friedrich Otto Wolff (13 May 1900 – 17 July 1984) was a senior German SS officer who served as Chief of Personal Staff Reichsführer-SS (Heinrich Himmler) and an SS liaison to Adolf Hitler during World War II.

The agency was dissolved in 1931; Karl and Frieda Wolff were living in Bogenhausen, an upper-class Munich neighborhood, which doubled as the family home and as the offices for company.

From January 30th 1937 Karl Wolff received the double ranking of SS-Gruppenführer and General-leutnant der SS-Verfügungstruppe. After the outbreak of the Second World War, he was promoted to SS-Gruppenführer and Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS on May 3rd 1940.

Nach seinem Dienst in einem Freikorps arbeitete er bis Juni 1924 als Lehrling bei der Deutschen Bank. Danach war er arbeitslos. Er fand wieder eine Verwendung bei Annonen Exspedition Walther von Danckelmann.
