2022年5月16日 · I have too many Strats, some tuned standard and some down to Eb. I test each Strat I get to see where it belongs. The ones that stay tuned to standard sound pretty darn good as is when compared to Eb. The ones tuned down definitely improved in tonality. I have more tuned to Eb than standard: 6 in Eb, 2 in E. That’s a 3/1 ratio. Pretty impressive.

2021年12月23日 · I keep the same gauge and don't even think about it. The difference in tension is negligible and the little extra looseness that does exist is part of the characteristic of tuning down to Eb. FWIW, I do have a guitar that I keep tuned to Eb so that the guitar is specifically set up for that, for convenience. I think the gauge is 9.5 - 44.

2018年1月5日 · Here is what I use: 25.5" scale: E = 9-42 Eb= 10-46 24.75" scale: E = 10-46 Eb = 11-48 Granted, there is a difference in stiffness between the Fender 9-42 in E and the Gibson 11-48 in Eb (latter is stiffer), but I'm not very fussy.

2011年9月20日 · Obviously I didn't explain myself correctly with reference to tuning to E-flat in reference to 440 hz. I wasn't understanding that it's actually A that is 440 and a guitar is tuned to A. Before my initial post, in my mind it all makes sense: If regular tuning is 440 hz, then obviously tuning down half a step must be XXX hz.
