Edgar Martínez (born January 2, 1963), nicknamed "Gar" and "Papi", is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball player who is currently the senior director of hitting strategy coach for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He led the AL in RBI in 2000 with 145, powered the Mariners to 116 wins the following year and was named the winner of the Outstanding Designated Hitter Award five times in a seven-year period.
