2019年4月13日 · As I'd been listening to Focal Profile 908 bookshelf speakers in system 2 for several years, I was intrigued by Focal's beryllium tweeter. When the Sopra 2 was released & Electra 1038bes discounted (I paid $6K for refurbished) I took the leap of faith, but first Googled the Hades on the 1038bes . . . . to little result.

2024年8月19日 · My speakers include a Focal 8K415S in a transmission line, and a 5K013L midbass driver in an aperiodic damped chamber that also dumps into the transmissi9n line. TOTL crossover parts and proprietary design, along with tube/solid state bi-amping give them a well refined musical clarity that I still enjoy today.

2012年6月14日 · I had a chance to listen to these speakers a few times at the local audio shop here. I was able to do a side by side comparison between the Focals and the B&W 802 Diamonds. The B&W's were very nice, but the Focal Electra's gave me goosebumps.

2014年5月29日 · I own a set of Focal Chorus 816v speakers and I am still very happy with them. After listening to offerings from B&W, Paradigm & Klipsch in the same price point I walked away with the Focal pair. Very good set of speakers for the price point.

2019年4月13日 · FWIW I moved from Focal 1028BEs to Wilson Audio Sabrinas. Without a well treated room the Focal’s slightly hotter top end can get fatiguing and near impossible to control. All the Focal punch and speed can be impressive but also unforgiving because fullness and warmth are the trade off.

2013年1月26日 · I am getting Focal 826V speakers for a media room and they have spikes. The floor is solid wood and I don't want to ruin it. What is a recommended spike protector for the floor that could double as good isolators/vibration control. The speakers are front and down ported and have a base they stand on (see picture below).

2023年10月14日 · I think both Focal and B&W make great speakers. Lately, I’ve been gravitating more to Focal. Both speakers are very revealing, clear, and detailed. I find Focal more engaging and dynamic, but in fairness, my B&W’s are all older models, 20-25 years old. My Focal's are all the latest generation. So, it’s probably not a fair comparison.

2013年9月19日 · For systems where the electronics are of very high quality and little coloration or frequency deviations, the Focal speakers will reveal the recording in all of its detail and power. The new Focal Aria 900 speakers are not yet available but will eventually replace the 800V series as those sell down. It offers some technical improvements.

2015年6月9日 · The first thing you will find out about Focal's higher line speakers when you research them is that they use the famed beryllium tweeter. Then, people all over will warn you that the beryllium tweeter can be very harsh and somewhat nasty depending on the room and your taste. You will find they are made in France and generally get great reviews.

2019年10月22日 · Focal sounded pretty bad to me on several auditions but I attended an audio show of all places and Acoustics expert Bob Hodus set up a room with Focal speakers and they sounded excellent. He raised the speakers off the floor and treated the room heavily - he reversed my opinion of the loudspeakers.
