Greed's motive for kidnapping Al does not sensibly transition to the 2003 anime. Although both Greeds sought immortality by being bonded to an inanimate object, it's heavily stressed that Homunculi in the anime 2003 have incomplete souls, thus making a spirit binding impossible.

2019年7月1日 · In the 2003 anime, Envy said that "It's been forever since the seven of us were united", implying that there were Homunculi before the current Sloth, Wrath, and Lust, minus Envy (who's the first one born), Greed, Gluttony, and Pride.

In the 2003 anime, Lust is the only homunculus whose creator died before the series began. Lust's perspective on her own identity as the original human carries over to her perspective of the creature Tucker created, replying "it's his daughter" when Sloth calls her "that useless chimera".

He also served as a key in imprisoning Greed, with whom he had a long-standing grudge against, within the Fifth Laboratory. It is also notable that Envy had no love for his Homunculi brethren and mainly antagonized his first "brother," Greed.

Greed reveals he'll make sure to punish Kimblee and Tucker for their betrayal later. Taking refuge at a nearby building, Greed and the last of his gang are confronted by Lust and Gluttony. They demand that Greed die or be sealed away, and they reveal their master is very angry with him.
