2025年1月30日 · The Green Mosque (Yeşil Camii) is one of the most important Ottoman landmarks in Bursa, Turkey. It’s part of a complex located in the Yeşil neighborhood and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage listing for Bursa. The Green Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Mehmed I and built between 1419 and 1424.

Combined with the Turbe, i.e. the mausoleum, of the same name (Yesil = green), this mosque is one of the most notable attractions of the city, second only to the Muradiye complex, located in another district of Bursa.

The Green Mosque is the most beautiful example of wood and marble craftsmanship, calligraphy and fine ornamentation in Anatolia. The madrasa constructed later and adjoining the western wing of the mosque has been turned into the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts.
