Charles Cleveland Poole (March 22, 1892 – May 21, 1931) [7] was an American old-time musician and leader of the North Carolina Ramblers, a string band that recorded many popular hillbilly songs between 1925 and 1930.

Over the years, their band has featured many old-time musicians from North Carolina and Virginia but Kinney Rorrer, who sings and plays the banjo in the same three-fingered picking style as Charlie Poole, has always led the group.
