Sarah Sutton (born 12 December 1961) [1] is a British actress. She played the role of Nyssa in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who. Sutton was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.

"I went to professional ballet school at the age of seven, and at the age of nine auditioned for the part of Baby Roo in a musical version of Winnie The Pooh at the Phoenix Theatre in London," recalls Sutton.

With her enthusiasm for acting waning, Sutton decided to wind down her career following the birth of her daughter, Hannah, in 1991. Sutton did reprise Nyssa for the 1993 charity special Dimensions In Time, which celebrated Doctor Who's thirtieth anniversary.
