Synyster Gates is the son of musician, author, and comedian Brian Haner Sr., known as Papa Gates, who worked with Sam the Sham's band in the 1970s and has done session work for Avenged Sevenfold. Gates studied at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California, as part of the Guitar Institute of Music program, studying jazz and classical guitar.

2020年8月14日 · I remain definitely NOT A FAN of artist models, especially when they have distinctive artist features (for instance, I'd buy a PRS Tremonti, because as far as artist models go, that's not much different than a Les Paul), but it would still be great to see where Syn's preferences have gone, and who knows?

2023年5月13日 · Has anyone actually gotten a close look at the headless guitar he used for Nobody? it's alive. it's the dead. it's an axe without a head. It looks like his signature but headless right? I'm curious about it. That new guitar looks awesome! I can’t wait to see a better picture of it and possibly buy one if and when they release it.

2020年3月10日 · I own a epiphone les paul ultra, a fender squire and an ESP LTD EC-1000 which is the guitar I use 99 percent of the time. But for almost 10 years I've been a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan, particularly Synyster Gates. He's got his own guitars, including the Schecter Synyster Gates Custom S which is the guitar I've had my eye on for years.
