2023年7月22日 · The story of Dan Feng and Yingxing (known as Dan Heng and Blade) dates back to the second abundance war, around ~5749 star calendar. During this period, they were part of a group called the "High Cloud Quintet" and fought together against the abundance, earning recognition as the High Elder of the Vidyadhara and the Furnace Master.

Basically, Yingxing was an incredibly talented smith, potentially meant to be the sort you come across once every few centuries. It is also HEAVILY implied that he faced a great deal of prejudice because he was a short-life.

Yingxing doesn't accept the lost of his teammate - Baiheng. The reason for this is not known to us, maybe he was in love with her, maybe they were very close friend, or Dan Feng talked him into it using their relationship. We don't know. So in desperate, they make the mistake of creating a chimera using Baiheng, Shuhu's flesh and Dan Feng's power.

But along with that, Yingxing and Dan Feng were opposites in that Yingxing was an example of the freedom of short-lived species, whilst Dan Feng was forced into the high elder role, an example of long-lived species oppression.

The sad thing is to see what Yingxing is like now. From a shy and depressed little boy who has lost everything, and believing that he will accomplish nothing in his short life compared to long-lived species to an arrogant man who has made a name for himself in the history books as a legendary blacksmith so that the His name will be remembered even after his death.

3) Yingxing and Baiheng This is admittedly more of a personal gripe but I feel they should have established his relationship with Baiheng a lot more. It's obvious BH was extremely dear to him given that, according to JL, the entire sedition (which is a subject with its own share of differing narratives) was an attempt to resurrect her.

2023年9月29日 · I think Baiheng/Yingxing and/or Dan Feng are actually cute dynamics but it's always somehow brought up when people are trying dispute Renheng. You can't automatically claim there is no merit to queer-coded ships because the beloved being Baiheng can't mean anything platonic.
