But, a buddy of mine does use one, and he swears by the old-school small MXR compressor unit - I think that Dunlop makes them now. They're fairly inexpensive and very simple; a lot of slide players use them.

2019年4月8日 · I highly recommend a compressor for use with an amplified acoustic guitar. Excellent control of dynamics with very good overall smoothing of the sound. Of course it does take some experimentation to dial in your particular wants with your particular instrument but the result is well worth the effort.

2022年11月19日 · I use a MXR Mini Dyna Comp and a Boss RV6 Reverb/Delay pedal for my acoustic board. Sometimes the set list demands a chorus pedal, then the Boss CE5 gets added to the minimal board. I prefer to adjust the compression of my guitar at my board so I know what the signal out is sounding like as opposed to having the FOH mixer add anything to my signal.

2008年7月24日 · It is easy to overdo the compression with the acoustic and then it sounds odd. Really what it does is take down the dynamic range so that the initial strum doesn't sound as loud. It doesn't increase sustain a whole lot, the way it does on an electric guitar. This is my first compressor pedal so I can't offer a comparison with other brands.

I'm using a Mooer Yellow Comp compressor, and find it fantastic for the acoustic guitar, in fact if you keep the compression level low, its transparent enough to work as just a clean boost.
