The snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is a species of large cat in the genus Panthera of the family Felidae. The species is native to the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia.

2024年11月20日 · Snow leopards were photographed on 37 out of 43 camera traps. We observed 19 adult snow leopards from previous years, three new adult snow leopards not seen in previous years and five potentially new adults, transients, or subadult snow leopards.

Known throughout the world for its beautiful fur and elusive behavior, the endangered snow leopard (Panthera uncia) is found in the rugged mountains of Central Asia. Snow leopards are perfectly adapted to the cold, barren landscape of their high-altitude home, but human threats have created an uncertain future for the cats.

Adult snow leopards are six to seven-and-a-half feet long from their heads to the tips of their tails. They weigh 60 to 120 pounds, and males are slightly larger than females. In the wild, snow leopards can live up to 18 years, but in human care can live up to 20 years.

Snow leopards are top predators, they have few natural predators other than humans. However, interspecific killing between leopards (Panthera pardus) and snow leopards can occur when competition for resources between these sympatric carnivores increases.
