2015年2月3日 · I only see the objection when there is a private ceremony (or courthouse, or whatever) and then another "public" ceremony with reception later. Many people don't have objections when a second ceremony is styled as a vow renewal rather than a wedding.

Courthouse wedding last November, proper ceremony and reception this November. I felt a bit weird at first worried that it came across as deceptive, but I think we are going to treat the ceremony as a vow renewal, as most people know we are already married.

Many couples opt for a courthouse wedding followed by a larger reception at a later date. This allows you to have a simple, immediate ceremony with close friends and family and then celebrate with more guests when you’re ready.

We are thinking about doing a courthouse ceremony now and then having the full big wedding later. Doing our actual vows and the walk down the aisle followed by the big party. Is this something other people have done? Is this ok? Any advice on this would be great.

Although, they did wish that I would eventually have a religious wedding with a large reception. A week later, I told my mother. She said she knew that there was something special about him and also wanted me to have a second ceremony, so she could watch her baby girl walk down the aisle. My dad and sister didn't take me as seriously.

2021年10月26日 · You probably won't be able to do the ceremony the same day as the reception if you want to do a courthouse wedding, the courts won't be open on Saturdays. I think your plan is perfect! I personally would get two different dresses, one simpler for court/dinner and then a fancier one for the reception!

If getting married in the courthouse is important because of timing, then you need to accept that that's your "wedding" and skip any reenactment, big white dress, bridal party members, and other "wedding" trappings later.
