2022年2月15日 · It's my understanding that the MQB Tiguan engines are EA888 Gen3.B. They run a Budack cycle rather than the Miller cycle used in the GTI's EA888 Gen3. I think that's partly why the Tiguan's make 184hp/221lb-ft and GTI's make 220hp/258lb-ft. I am not sure about hardware differences though.

2022年5月11日 · Gen 3 EA888 1.8Ts are load more reliable than previous Gens. Gen 1 and 2 have issues with timing chain tensioners and other issues, so far Gen 3s seem to be pretty stout. My mechanic doesn't even recommend the chain being done at 100k. He has Passats/other VW models with the Gen 3 1.8T with well over 150K miles no issues.

2024年10月10日 · Honestly, what you are describing sounds like almost every EA888 engine I've experienced. I see the same thing with mine and occasionally worse than you are describing. From what I understand, as long as the misfires do not happen under load and aren't severe enough to trigger the CEL, you should be fine.
