2013年6月13日 · Out of all the guitars I have, Fender Strat MIM, Epiphone SG (modified), older ~'80's Samick something HSS (heavily modified), and stock '92 Gibson LP Studio, the Gibson has the best tone qualities. Big deep lows, clear highs, and superb power from the 498/490 combo.
490R/498T vs. '57 Classic pups in SG Standard? - The Gear Page
2009年12月21日 · I recently scored a 2007 Gibson SG Standard. I'd like to get some of your thoughts on the stock 490R/498T pups vs. '57 Classics. I actually like the stock 490R and 498T pickups in this guitar but I've got a '57 Classic and '57 Classic+ on my Epiphone Dot Deluxe, I'm kind of half toying with the idea of putting those pickups on my SG, what do ...
For an SG Standard: thoughts on 490R/490T vs 490R/498T vs …
2019年9月25日 · I have a Custom Shop SG Custom with the 490R/490T configuration and I quite like it, especially for recording. I find the 490s really allow the personality of different pedals and amps to come through very well. And as a result, I can get a lot of really great tones with the SG.
498T - "Hot Alnico" (Treble, Double Black, 4-Conductor, Potted ... - Gibson
A high-output version of the 490T, Gibson's 498T humbucker™ combines the more powerful response of an Alnico 5 magnet with additional balanced windings on each coil, which puts the emphasis on the pickup's upper midrange frequencies for enhanced crunch and sustain.
Tell me all about the Gibson 498T - Rig-Talk
2011年2月17日 · The 498t is a bridge version of the 490t but with a higher output and an alnico 5 magnet instead of the alnico 2. Its hotter then your average paf. They come stock in les paul customs ,and they came in lp standards up untill a few yrs ago. They still come in Sg standard also. Its subjective as any pickup and personal taste.
So when did they start putting the 498t pickups stock in SG …
2010年7月29日 · Ever since they started making 498's they have been in the SG Standards. Some time in the 80's I think, before they would just call them humbuckers wether they were PAF or all the other versions of Gibson pickups. I believe they started using the 490R/498T combo in late 1990/early 1991. 3 weeks later...
Gibson 490R & 498T Pickup Set - 2005 Gibson SG Standard
Near mint condition Gibson 490R & 498T Pickup Set that I pulled from a 2005 Gibson SG Standard - They sound amazing, but they're just too hot for my playing style. Original lead wire length on both - single braided shielded wire on both. Neck: 7.89K. Bridge: 13.8K
Why do so many people dislike the 490r/498t set? : r/gibson - Reddit
To be fair, the SG standard comes with the 490t in the bridge, rather than the 498t. The 490t is much less hot, at almost have the output of the 498t. Because if I had to decide between two guitars where one feels and plays better and the other one sounds better, I‘m going with the first one. Why? Because this. is bullshit.
Gibson 490R/T vs 498T Pickups: What are the Differences?
In this article I’ll compare these two Gibson pickups with particular emphasis on the bridge pickup variants, the 498T and 490T, to help you figure out which is the best option for you. The 498T pickup has a higher output compared to the 490T. The 498T has more upper-mids which gives it a punchier tone compared to the 490T which sounds cleaner.
Any love for 490r/ 498t in SG? | Page 2 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2018年5月16日 · My SG (3 pickup) came with 2 490Rs and 490T. (it was my first -- and currently only -- Gibson as well) I liked the 490R pretty well. With fuzz, you can get a great "woman" tone. It is darker than I prefer overall though, so I eventually swapped all of the 490's for some Seymour Duncans I got cheap ($40 each) and put the 490's in an Epi SG.
