2024年2月6日 · Laframboise never imagined he would join that very fire department, let alone lead it as fire chief for a quarter of a century, but that is exactly what he did. “I’ve been on call since ‘91,” he laughed, seated in the second-floor meeting room of the Shawville-Clarendon Fire Department on a quiet Thursday afternoon.

The Fire Department is dispatched by the 9-1-1 emergency call center to grass, bush, barn, and house fires, car accidents for use of Jaws of life and for assistance with paramedics with lifts or as needed by Sûreté du Quebec. The department operates out of one station located on Center St. that protects a primarily rural area.
