2019年9月15日 · Scots pine (SP) and Norway spruce (NS) stands support different plant communities. SP stands support a higher abundance of vascular plants than NS. NS has more species, probably due to past land-use, but light limits the understory. A landscape scale shift to NS will likely reduce vascular plant diversity.
In this paper, we report on the growth and stand development of the watershed planted to Norway spruce. This information will be useful in future assessments of the hydrologic effects of forest type conversion on water yield and nutrient cycling.
