2007年1月23日 · The uncleaved signal peptide becomes available for membrane translocation of ovalbumin when the nascent chain is 50 to 60 residues long. The hydrophobic sequence, which lies between residues 27 and 43, folds back on the preceding residues to form an amphipathic hairpin structure which is the signal element recognized by the membrane.
Ovalbumin - Wikipedia
Ovalbumin (abbreviated OVA [1]) is the main protein found in egg white, making up approximately 55% of the total protein. [2] Ovalbumin displays sequence and three-dimensional homology to the serpin superfamily, but unlike most serpins it is not a serine protease inhibitor. [3]
RCSB PDB - 1OVA: CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF UNCLEAVED OVALBUMIN …
1990年11月26日 · Ovalbumin, the major protein in avian egg-white, is a non-inhibitory member of the serine protease inhibitor (serpin) superfamily. The crystal structure of uncleaved, hen ovalbumin was solved by the molecular replacement method using the structure of plakalbumin, a proteolytically cleaved form of ovalbumin, as a starting model.
Structure and properties of ovalbumin - ScienceDirect
2001年5月25日 · Ovalbumin is a protein of unknown function found in large quantities in avian egg-white. Surprisingly, ovalbumin belongs to the serpin family although it lacks any protease inhibitory activity. We review here what is known about the amino acid sequence, post-translational modifications and tertiary structure of ovalbumin.
Ovalbumin - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
Ovalbumin is the only egg white protein to contain free sulfhydryl groups. The complete amino acid sequence of hen ovalbumin comprises 385 residues. The purified form of ovalbumin consists of three different subclasses, Al, A2 and A3, which contain two, one and no phosphate groups per molecule, respectively (Mine, 1995). During the storage of ...
The complete amino-acid sequence of hen ovalbumin - PubMed
The complete amino acid sequence of hen ovalbumin, comprising 385 residues, has been determined. The sequence was deduced from the 17 cyanogen bromide fragments and from peptides derived by digestion with a number of proteolytic enzymes. The molecular weight of the polypeptide chain of ovalbumin is …
Understanding Ovalbumin: Structure, Function & Applications
The amino acid sequence of ovalbumin consists of 386 residues, predominantly composed of proline, leucine, and aspartate. Each amino acid contributes to the overall stability and reactivity of the protein.

Sequence alignments of ovalbumin (OVA, NP_990483), ovalbumin …
Ovalbumin, OVAX, and OVAY belong to the serpin superfamily based on the presence of a stretch of 11 residues, which fits with the consensus sequence for serpin members. These are FRADHPFLFCI,...
Sequence of chicken ovalbumin mRNA - PubMed
1978年6月29日 · The complete sequence of chicken ovalbumin mRNA is presented; it is 1,859 residues long, excluding its terminal 'cap' and poly (A). The region coding for ovalbumin lies close to the 'cap' but is separated from the poly (A) by an extensive 3' noncoding region of 637 nucleotides which may have no function that is precisely dependent on its sequence.
